President's Message - Summer 2022

We hope you are all enjoying your Summer as we all continue to navigate through living and working through COVID-19 and the various variants.

In June AEP held the first in-person AEP Institute in 2 years. The Institute focused topic was on CEQA Air Quality, GHG Analysis, Carbon Offsets and Environmental Justice. Over 75 attendees were present at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento, June 3rd. This program was recorded and is available to our members if you were unable to attend in person.

Our AEP “How to Write an EIR” webinar on Thursday, July 28 was a huge success with over 200 attendees. If you are interested and missed the webinar, we also have this available at for purchase.

Mark your calendars for the upcoming NEPA Essentials Virtual Workshop, Thursday, September 22nd. Registration and agenda information is available in this edition of the EM and also at

The AEP 2023 Conference Committee is excited to host next year’s conference at the beautiful Resort at Squaw Creek, April 23-26, 2026. Deadline for AEP 2023 Call for Presentations is September 30th. We look forward to hearing from our members and reviewing abstracts for next year’s conference. Sponsorships and registration are also open on Don’t forget to book your room early as we do anticipate that this conference will be a sell-out.

Plans are already underway for our AEP 2022 CEQA Essential Workshops held across the state. The CEQA Essentials Workshops will be held in person at the end of October/beginning of November. Information will be available on in September.

Our membership is what makes AEP the organization that it is today. We are over 2090 members strong!
