To perform your own research on legislation, the Committee recommends the Legislature’s Official Legislative Information website. It’s the fastest way to view legislative bills, bill analyses, voting records, legislative history, and signing and veto messages.

California State Legislature: http://www.legislature.ca.gov

The California State Legislature’s website has information on the legislators, the various committees, calendars and schedules, as well as general information related to the legislative process.

Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO): http://www.lao.ca.gov

LAO provides independent, nonpartisan analysis, research, and advice to the Legislature on fiscal and policy issues. Their website provides convenient summaries of current and past ballot measures.

CEQA Web: http://resources.ca.gov/ceqa

CERES also maintains CEQA Web, the official website for Resources Agency actions affecting CEQA.

Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR): http://www.opr.ca.gov

OPR is responsible for developing guidelines for the implementation of CEQA. They periodically issue important notices concerning interpretations of CEQA Guidelines and the effects of new laws on the operation of CEQA. OPR is also the home of the State Clearinghouse for CEQA documents.
